Hôtel Le Troubadour Rocamadour

Absolutely incredible accommodation. From the friendliness of the family owners, to the stunning location and the amazing rooms, I cannot recommend this place enough. It gave us the true French Countryside experience. The breakfast had such a spread and was delicious! We took advantage of the beautiful pool and loved spending time in the courtyard. We also enjoyed playing with their Truffle Dog!

I had tickets for the Rocamadour festival on the 15th of august so I called to book a room on the upper floor a couple of months earlier. Mathieu promised this, when I asked for confirmation by email he said that they are a family business and I should trust them with no emails. I called again to confirm my booking a few days before my arrival and he refused to give me the room on the upper floor. Then asked if I had an email or anything from them to confirm what he promised orally & he said that they had a group coming and that the upper rooms were all occupied!! Then he was so rude to tell me that I can find another place. It was too late to do anything by then. When I arrived he gave me a room with a family just above me, I told him that I needed a quiet room as I can’t sleep. He refused and again told me to leave if I want to!! There were kids and dogs above so you can imagine the horrible nights I spent there. There wasn’t any group by the way!!! However I’m wondering if he did this because I’m a woman travelling alone or because I’m a foreigner!! He was aloof, haughty and didn’t show any understanding and wasn’t helpful with his attitude. To make things worse, he wasn’t honest!! It is a pity as the place is nice.
